This is our play on the classic London Fog! A good friend from Newfoundland explained the term "mauzy" means a warm, dense fog on the Island. The combination of the sweet maple syrup and the fruitiness of Earl Grey Tea make for a welcome start to the morning or an afternoon pick me up with a decidedly Canadian twist! Makes enough for two people.
What you need to get started::
1 Earl Grey Tea Bag
1 Cup Hot Water
1 Cup Milk (Full fat, Almond, Skim, it's really up to you)
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 Tsp Maple Sugar
How-to::
Steep tea bag in hot water for 5 minutes for a strong brew.
Warm and froth milk, if able. If you don't have a frother, warm milk on stove top. It doesn't get foamy but it does the trick!
Half fill cups with tea, add the maple syrup, then fill with frothy milk (make sure to scoop on extra froth). Sprinkle with maple sugar and enjoy hot!
Looking for bonus points? Rub the rim of the teacup with lemon and dip in maple sugar for a sweet rimmer!
